Downloaded latest security update that came available today. All of a sudden, numerous apps DISAPPEARED! They're not on the home screen(s) and not showing under the Apps. These seem to be mostly the ones I previously moved to the SD card. Yet, if I go to the play store, presto! There they are! I can run them from there, but cannot see them on the apps screen so I can move them to the phone's home screen.
Since the last few updates went smooth, I assumed Verizon got their act together after those catastrophic S5 LOLLIFLOP updates.
Boy was I wrong!
I'm now on the phone with VZW tech support for an hour and a half now and am getting nowhere!

you aren't running apps from the play store, apps are already installed.

[[Removed] are you talking about? All my downloaded apps are from the Play Store.
Just got back from the Samsung store. They confirmed it was the security software update that [Removed] everything up and I have to go back tomorrow so they can back everything up, wipe the phone, then restore it all.

Before doing the update, did you unmount and remove the SD card? I always do that. FYI, I still haven't installed Nougat. As long as people have problems with it, I will continue delaying the install.

Yes, the update (which I just did now) corrupted the SD card. Everything on my card is missing (apps, pics, docs).

Having issues too with the newest update. All of a sudden, my phone started running VERY VERY hot and draining the battery very quick. I very much rely on my phone for work, so this is a major inconvenience! This needs to be fixed ASAP!

All system and software updates to Samsung can be disabled by an application call a BK DISABLER you can get it from Google play. Some Samsung models require the BK PLUGIN. I have been using it to block all system and software updates. Until checked
