Data Usage

We are noticing that our data usage is getting hit in the middle of the night when we are asleep. All apps are turned off and internet is not running. I have changed my data usage plan because i dont want to pay the overage fee. How can we prevent this from happening?

You may have apps running in the background, backing up files or checking for updates.  Have you turned off background data?  I also leave my cellular data turned off until it's needed.

Thanks for the info. I turned off the mobile data. Where wo i go to turn off the background data?

menu > settings > data usage > menu, then check Restrict background data

Keep in mind that this will keep things from syncing or prevent access to certain functions when on cellular data, such as your e-mail.
