Galaxy S7 connects to Wi-Fi but no internet available. This occurs when I leave the house and return. Other devices work OK.

I connect to Wi-Fi just fine, but sometimes when I leave then return to the house WI-Fi is connected but internet is not available according to the Wi-Fi manager on the phone.  Also can occur if the phone is unused for a few hours.  It is intermittent issue.

If you go to settings - backup and reset then go down to reset network settings this may help. You will have to setup your wifi password again. What type of router do you have? I have a lot of phones and computers on my network and every once in awhile I have to reboot the router to clean it up.

I have a Belkin router that reboots itself twice a week. My other devices are working fine. Sometimes recycling power to the phone clears it up. This is occurring since the last update a few weeks ago.

I've removed the connection and reestablished it already.

I know that when they updated the phones a couple of updates back people were having this problem. This last update was supposed to have something in it to fix this problem but I don't think it fixed everyones phone. I know every once in awhile I will pickup my phone and its not connected to wifi which I have the data turned off and the phone set to wifi. I have been having this problem since I got this phone and it had marshmallow on it. Since you've done all this maybe someone else will have a suggestion to clear it up Did you download the Belkin app for your phone? I have netgear and they have some things in it that could tell you if it finds a problem

Having to restart your phone for WIFI to connect can be tedious, MarkD1944. kathy65793 provided some great steps to take to help. Another possibility is that the software update didn't load correctly on your device. One thing that can help is Software Repair Assistant: https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-80201/

We do recommend completing a back up of your data prior to starting this step, as it extracts everything off your phone, including the corrupt software, then loads a fresh copy of the software.

thanks for the suggestion and I'll certainly do this. However the problem is intermittent. Could this be a problem??

Your efforts are greatly appreciated in an effort to isolate the issue. Does the issue occur with all wi-fi networks or only your home wi-fi network? Please keep us posted with the results.

I only have a sample size at my home Wi-Fi. I have two connections available a 5GHZ and 2.4GHZ. Sometimes switching between the two works, sometimes not. The link to the article in the PREVIOUS email gives "An Unexpected Error Occurred".
