Galaxy Watch can't make/receive calls or texts when I'm away from my phone and connected to cellular

When my watch is not connected to my phone via Bluetooth and is connected to LTE, mobile data works fine, however I cannot receive or send calls or texts. Whenever I make a call it fails and whenever I send a text it also fails.

Unpair the watch from your phone's Bluetooth. This fixed the problem for me.
