I have repeatedly turned off hands on mode (Settings/Device), but it keeps turning itself back and the stupid voice wants me to say "Hi Galaxy" or asks if I'm having a nice day. It may have been a nice day, but not after hearing that voice. This seems to be associated with receiving a notification.
How do I turn off this feature such that it only comes on when I want it to?

I'm sorry to hear about this issue that's occuring with your phone jstevens8352. Have you tried adjusting the notifications on your device? I have listed them below:
• From the home screen, select Apps (located in the lower-right).
• From the Apps tab, select Settings.
• From the My device tab, select Sound.
• Select Notifications.
• Select a notification then select OK.
Do you have any apps that may be tied into this setting? If so, please temporarily remove. I would also recommend safe mode? Put the phone into safe mode and test the device, then disable the setting. Here is a link to the steps http://vz.to/1hCWfLm .

I was trying to duplicate your problem and I might have discovered a solution.
Press the Menu key
Select Settings
Choose the My device tab
Select Lock Screen
Look at the bottom of this page for Wake up in lock screen
If there is a checkmark there, this might be causing your problem (uncheck it)
You can also Select the Set wake-up command to see what has been programmed (you can reset them from here)

Thanks, I checked and I did not have wake up in lock screen checked. I turned it on then off just to be sure. Hands free mode still comes whenever there is a notification. One way I can force this is to change WIFI connections. Whenever I do this hands free mode is turned on.

Thanks, I put the phone in safe mode. While in safe mode I changed WIFI connections and hands free mode came back on. At least that should eliminate any of my Aps as the cause.

I think the problem is fixed. I oouldn't find a settings option under the Aps menu, but I did find the Sound option under the Home/Settings My Device tab. On that screen I found the "Default notification sound" was set to Verizon Alert. I changed it to Beep. I then changed WIFI connection and hands free did not come on.
Thanks again.
