This just confirms to me that delaying the update is the way to go. Q4 was supposed to fix the wifi issue. Obviously, for kutac1, it didn't work.

Tried all of those things nothing worked. Only thing I haven't tried was the factory reset. Will have to do that now.

I have tried everything suggested including factory reset. My issue has become worse. Wi-Fi was connecting then kicking off with a ! On the Wi-Fi symbol. Now Wi-Fi will not connect at all. Wi-Fi symbol has a ? On it now. Cust service no help. They act like I'm the first one with this issue. After being Verizon customers for 20 years and android users we are seriously considering dropping verizon and going with a different carrier and switching to iphones. This latest issue has caused so much frustration and wasted time. Seems every phone i get runs great then verizon releases an update and the phone has issues. This latest issue is just one of many i have experienced over the years after a firmware update is released. Firmware updates = issues, bottom line. This is ridiculous!!

Coincidentally I also have issues with 4g. If i travel to weak cell signal area and phone goes in to 1x it won't recover to 4g. I've literally drove to a Verizon cell tower and phone stays in 1x. *228 is useless. Restart phone and boom, full bars 4g. There is a serious connectivity issue with the S7 after the update and Verizon needs to address it. I'm shopping for other cell carriers and looking into iphones. Samsung losing business as well due to Verizon updates. I'm guessing in typical big corporation fashion Verizon wont care. They'll just talk everyone into upgrading to S8. Then once there's a firmware update another major issue will arise on the S8... go to S9 rinse repeat etc etc etc

This is certainly not the experience that we want you to have, Ryder33982. It's essential that you are enjoying your device and that it's fully operational. It's never our goal to see you leave the Verizon Family. I definitely understand the trouble you're having with your device, and want to do everything possible to find a solution. You mentioned having to restart your phone when you lose service temporarily. As an alternate to this, you can turn airplane mode on for a couple of seconds, then turn it off, and it will accomplish the same as a restart (in regards to service). This can save a bit of time, rather than doing a full restart of the phone. May I ask, when you did the factory reset of your device, did you restore from a backup, or set the phone up as new?

I have this issue on s6 edge after upgrading but it is slightly different. After waking phone it is connected to wifi but has no internet access for a few minutes then it works. Frustrating as ever.

kathy65793, because of all the issues I've picked up here, I have delayed installing Nougat and any of the subsequent updates. I did this with KitKat when I had an S4.
BTW, I always find your posts useful and most informative.

Thanks jrh4054 we were not going to do this last update thinking that we have not had any problems with any of them so far. However when we got up today the one phone updated by itself. What is weird about it is the one started updating and was at 83% so I decided to update the other one. I turned the mobile data off and disconnected the wifi and that phone updated and rebooted while the other one was at 97%. I cleared the cache partition on both of them and so far so good. Another weird thing was that on the one phone I had 12.06 GB in the internal storage but after the update had 11.96 Gb. I cleared the cache out yesterday before the update that is how I knew how much was in there. Would had thought that the update would have put more in there but oh well. I guess we will see what problem this new update will cause.

Why did to turn on mobile data and wifi when you did the update? If you have a card, did you remove it before doing the update? I was told to do that.
Even though I have moved all I can to the card, I'm nearly out of internal storage. Will this be an issue when and if I decide to do the Nougat update?
