I purchased a used S20+ (Amazon) that said it was Verizon. I contact the seller who said it was unlocked which suggests it was not a Verison phone to begin with.
I did not come with a SIM card and I took it to the factory Verizon Store where they activated it.
After transferring apps and data from the old phone using "Smart Switch" I discovered there was no "Visual Voice Mail".
Taking it back to the Verizon Store, they could not find the Visual Voice Mail App as it was not listed Play Store telling them that the phone is not 100% Verizon Compatible.
I also contacted Verizon Tech Support who also concluded the phone was not fully compatible.
In My Verizon, there is an Apps section that had Visual Voice mail, I installed it, but it would not run on the phone.
Are you aware of issues with Unlocked phones? Are there fixes for this issue that you can suggest?
Thank you
Robin

Unlocked phones that aren't Verizon Wireless branded don't have access to exclusive features like the Verizon Visual Voicemail application.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

OK. Disappointing since the seller claimed it was Verizon phone. Exactly the issues I wasn't to avoid by getting a Locked Verizon phone.
What other features will not work when using an unlocked phone?
Thank you

Wi-Fi calling and VoLTE are the main ones I'm aware of.

This can absolutely be an issue with devices purchased from a third party. This tells me that the device is most likely not a Verizon Wireless device, however it is compatible with our network. This explains why it is able to activate but some feature may be missing. I hope this helps provide clarity. *Estevan

There is not a way to determine which services will not work. It's more of a trial and error method.*Estevan

Or rather, Verizon has not put in resources to do this (I recently posted AT&Ts list where they do do this) For any specific full model ID (which indicates whether it was a factory unlocked model or otherwise) there will be one answer as to whether or not it supports any particular feature. Not trial and error at all.

If the amazon seller stated in their listing it was a verizon branded phone and you bought it based on that you should take it up with amazon and ask for a refund and send the phone back.
