How do I stop my apps from opening and closing on their own?

I will have an app open and then other recently used apps will open and then close on their own.  It seems to cycle through a few apps and then land on one.  It disrupts whatever you are doing.

Which apps are doing this? Are they the apps that came with the phone or are they ones that you installed on your phone? Have you tried to run the Verizon security app?
