I don't remember my device password. How do I unlock it?

I am trying to enter the password on my device, it is locked. I cannot remember the password and cannot get to a finger print swipe screen.

Let’s get you back into that device! I know forgetting the backup passcode is a frustrating situation, not to worry though, you can still get back in. I have lots of options for you!  If you created a Samsung ID when you set up the phone initially, you can remotely unlock the device through Samsung’s site here https://findmymobile.samsung.com/login.do  If you do not know if you created a Samsung account then click on the “Find My Email/Password” link to try and recover it.

If you did not create a Samsung ID, you can still get back in by performing a Factory Reset on the phone. Here are the steps for completing this reset http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-99541/   Please know that performing this reset will delete all your data on the phone and restore it to the default settings.  If you had your device backed up, you will be able to restore that information after the reset is complete.  You can see what content is backed up via the Verizon Cloud here http://vz.to/1Qx7ZQL
