I erased my contacts and Verizon connected me to the cloud. I cannot edit the contacts or erase any. How do I get my contact list back to factory setting?

I accidentally erased my contacts. Took Galaxy S6 to Verizon who connected me to the cloud. Cloud data is really old and I cannot edit or erase any of the contacts. How can I get contact list back to factory setting without resetting whole phone. I have searched online and find nothing. Thanks for any help!

SRutledge, I rely on my phone to hold my entire collection of contacts. I definitely understand the importance of getting that information back. If you sign into your Gmail account, are your contacts still listed correctly there? Android phones usually auto sync your contacts to the Google account you sign in with to use the Android services.
