It helps somewhat. I have to wait until someone texts me for the first time before I can assign a custom tone. Quite a step back from being able to add it to a contact when I set it up.
emesss1121, unfortunately, Amber_VZW doesn't know that Oreo, the current OS, removed the ability to customize notifications. Many, many S7,8, 9 users have raised strong objections to this change.
