Is there a timeframe for the Android Update 4.2.2 or 4.3, or even 5.0?

I have been reading online how several other phones have the 4.2.2 update and have had some issues, a reason why there are rumors that the Galaxy s3 won't see it, but maybe jump to 4.3 or 5.0. If anyone has any answers, not rumors, can you let us know please. Thank you.

The only thing you will get around here is rumors.  This is a peer to peer forum and the only Verizon employees who come on here are CS reps who do not have that information.

For those who remember the movie "Big Chill," Jeff Goldblum's character quibbed about not getting through one day without one or more juicy rationalizations. Same can be said about Verizon update rumors. >Comment deleted for violating the VZW ToS. Discussions concerning rooting are not permitted on this forum<

AS GOOD AS IT GETS

Android 4.3 Update Breakdown: Galaxy S3, HTC One & More is a post by Adam Mills from Gotta Be Mobile.

In late July, Google rolled out its Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, an update that since rolled out to Google’s Nexus devices including the Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Galaxy Nexus.

Throughout July, Android 4.3 Jelly Bean was one of the hottest topics amongst Android users on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean and below. Google did not disappoint as the company announced the highly anticipated update at its Nexus 7 launch event in July.

Android 4.3 Jelly Bean is a small update, no where close to the magnitude of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and really, Android 4.2. It comes with some likable features including Bluetooth LE, OpenGL 3.0 support, dial pad auto complete, some tweaks to the stock camera application, and more features that can be seen in the video below. Android 5.0 Key Lime Pie it is not, but alas, it’s still an important update nonetheless.

With Android 4.2 Jelly Bean still not found on many big name devices, Android 4.3 has become a much discussed update as some companies are currently thought to be skipping Android 4.2 and heading straight for Android 4.3, at least for some devices. The timeline for other devices is still not clear and likely won’t be for some time.

The Samsung Galaxy S3 will almost certainly be skipping Android 4.2 for Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. We’ve seen numerous Samsung devices, non-flagship devices, get Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Usually, Samsung upgrades its flagships first and its secondary devices next. We’ve also seen rumors suggest Android 4.2 will be skipped for Android 4.3.

Further proof came in the form of German carrier Telekom confirming its device would be skipping Android 4.2 for Android 4.3. So it’s all but confirmed. When the software will touch down is unknown though it should be sometime in 2013.

UAVPilot1, let's cease the rumors! Software updates are sent directly over the air from our friends at Samsung. We apologize that we have not been provided with a date expectation of when updates will be pushed to your device at this time. But stay tuned! http://bit.ly/n5snpq

Way to leave us Hanging! Smiley Happy   lol-  I love my phone (GS3 and GNTAB.8) and am bitting at the bit for the next OS update-

so temped to root it and load a ROM, but want to stick with the OEM stuff- I am a tech.analyst and know that customizing

OSes can lead to an addiction to Advil- But at least you gain skillz at restoring/recovering- lol

Shortened for brevity.....

Earlier this week, Samsung not only confirmed the Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update, it detailed the update for its users, offering information on what the update will bring when it arrives. And while Android 4.3 Jelly Bean still figures to be next in line for the Galaxy S3, at least one carrier appears to be gearing up for a Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.2.2 update instead. For weeks now, all we’ve been hearing about is how the Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update is close to rolling out. Rumors about the timing have put the Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean roll out in November with a release date still unknown. And given that Samsung finally confirmed the update not once, but twice this week, it’s safe to assume that we’re close. The Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.3 update could come in November. Earlier this week, Australian carrier Telstra released an updated version of its timeline for upcoming updates. On that page, the carrier confirmed a Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update for November but surprisingly, it had the Samsung Galaxy S3 listed with an Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update. Concerned customers wrote in, asking if the update was a typo. We’ve seen carriers make mistakes in these timelines before so the questions were relevant. It appears that one person who asked did receive a response from Telstra and surprisingly, it’s not a typo. The carrier apparently plans to upgrade the Samsung Galaxy S3 to Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean instead of Android 4.3 Jelly Bean in November. Thus far, it’s the only carrier that has affirmed these intentions though it’s not clear if it will be the last. Remember, Samsung was rumored to be having problems with the Android 4.2 Jelly Bean update and it was labeled as a reason why it shifted to Android 4.3 instead. So this development is a bit surprising to say the least. The carrier expects to deliver the Samsung Galaxy S3 Android 4.2.2 update on November 25th though that date is obviously subject to change. If the Android 4.3 Jelly Bean update does roll out to some owners in November it will certainly make Telstra decision look strange. At this point, no U.S. carriers have confirmed Android 4.3 or Android 4.2 for their Galaxy S3 variants and we don’t expect them to confirm anything ahead of their arrival.

I am seeing there are reports of the Galaxy S4 getting the 4.3 update through SLO-rizon today. I guess this is a good sign that those who own the S3 should see something soon.
