I hope the so called testing VZW does is better than the testing they did on the major update they did a while back that made almost everyones S3 worthless and then for the longest while acted as though they did not even know that the S3 was getting an update.  When they got so many calls they finally decided they needed to do something so they blamed Samsung.  All this testing that VZW does which is why it takes us forever to get our updates should have caught the problems which was as widespread as that.  That so called testing being the reason VZW customers get the updates weeks sometimes months after everyone else and then items are removed or items like Name Caller ID pushed out in the updates.  VZW should really be testing instead of removing parts of the update or adding features which they can charge you a hefty monthly fee ($2.99).  This is what VZW does for its customers with its updates.  They just do customers all these favors and want to take more of your hard earned money without customers even noticing it because they are to busy checking our why some of the apps they ones used before the update are not working.

Why are you directing your post at me?  I did not start the thread.  I wait patiently but I can very well see you don't test these updates as you say you do!  That update would not have been released for the S3 that was a big disaster to many of your customers as it did now would it?  You don't see me in this forum complaining cause I don't have this release or that release.  If I want it that bad I know where to get it without VZW releasing it and I don't get all your junkware either.  You don't need to direct these BS messages and links toward me, you can send them to someone who wants to read corporation BS, I DON'T. Thanks anyway, you can leave those messages with customers that may think you are helping them out.  I DON"T.

I dread the next "update".

The last one deleted (or rendered inaccessible) all the pictures on my phone. Gotta love that... can't wait to see what they have in store for me next.

I never check for updates anymore and when the phone gives me notice one is available I put them off for as long as I can or until I get tired of telling them nor or ignore.   I have been lucky so far though.  I guess it is just the fear of the unknown problems it may cause.  You always come here and different places and read about the horror stories.  Then if you do have issues you end up with one of those phones which was some other customers big problem or you have to keep going back to the VZW store and talk with those VZW people that are never interested in your issue and why should they be...they are sales people.  You are not going to make them a dime unless they sell you a new something.  Everyone is just out on a limb by themselves anymore.

Thanks to the huge wave of complaints about the Samsung Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean update on the web, when I received the push notification that I had "an update" that needed to be installed, I simply avoided it like the plague.

I have cheerfully skipped by every time that annoying pop-up appears on my phone that "an update" is needed, and I will (if I have to) continue to "just say no" until the phone dies. I like my Galaxy S III and the OS just the way it is, it works like a charm and I easily can get 24 hours on a charge (assuming I'm not using GPS, Wi-Fi, etc. ).

IMHO I see no compelling reason to upgrade the OS and suffer like those unfortunate people that have (sadly) swallowed the Jelly Bean.
