New S6 update to marhmellow killed wifi connection. Reset router, power cycled multiple times, doesn't even work in safe mode.

After the newest "upgrade" to 6.0.1, my wifi connection doesn't work.  Even after resetting my router, power cycling my phone several times, and running in safe mode.

Is there a way to fix this? Will Verizon reimburse me for the extra data I will have to use until a patch comes out? Do I have to revert to Factory Setting (and how)?

I have already wasted 4 hours trying to fix this mess YOU have created on a phone I paid for!!

Not happy at all when VW makes my phone more expensive and less useful while making me waste my time and, best of all I have to pay for it and fix it myself.

Sorry to hear about trouble with your phone after an OS update. I know how frustrated I would be if I could not use WiFi. Let's see if we can get to the bottom of this together. A Factory Data Reset may be a good option, but there are a couple things you'll want to confirm before you try that. First, have you tried connecting to multiple WiFi networks or just one? When you say your connection doesn't work, does your phone not find the networks, or does it see them but you can't successfully connect? Have you tried deleting your known WiFi connection(s) and signing back into it from scratch?

I have confirmed that my S6 with the latest update will only utilize my WiFi Internet connection to browse Internet via the Chrome browser.

If WiFi is turned on and connected, no Google play store software can update because it does not see an active Internet connection.  I have download over WiFi only selected from before the update, so I manually started all updates using my cell data.

I have confirmed that apps like USAA, credit karma, Honeywell TC 2.0 Game of War and Chrome browser will work properly over WiFi.

I am thinking that the specific firewall port Google Play Store uses for retrieving updates is being blocked with the latest update.
