Every time I switch between VZ Data and Wifi, I get a security note that "Unauthorized access to a secured area has been blocked. Tap to learn more." Tapping asks you to update the security policy-- but that comes back and says its already updated. There is also a long post on SE Android but its of no help. There is no information on what app/process is doing the "unauthorized access". Quite frustrating. Other people posting on XDA-DEVELOPERS.COM are also seeing this annoyance.

Have you checked your settings under Settings > Security to see if anything there is turned on that might cause this?
As for me, I haven't seen this error message on the S4 I have.

I have same problem since yesterday. Has your battery life been reduced since last weeks software update?

I believe this is fully related to the new security app "KNOX" from samsung that was loaded during the update. I just "installed" it, apparently its on the phone but not fully installed. I will wait to see if i continue to get those alerts (i have received them non-stop since the update also).

I have noticed the same annoying thing on my S4. I checked the Security settings like Ann154 suggested and if I don't get the Security Notice message when I get home, I will post what changes I made.

I have the same issue. People on http://forums.androidcentral.com/verizon-samsung-galaxy-s4/328179-verizon-galaxy-s4-security-notice-... have been saying that the problem will go away after a factory reset. I haven't don't done it yet. I hate factory resets. Helium will help restore app configurations, but I have yet to find a solution to restore OS configurations. Any ideas?
I have to say I am quite disappointed with Samsung here. There have been 3 OS updates on the Galaxy S4. So far, 2 of the 3 required a factory reset in order to really work. I never had this issue with Motorola.

I am not sure why you have had to do factory resets, i have the S4 and got all the updates just fine. After installing KNOX, like i said above, i have yet to receive another notification, i think that is where the problem lies. install it and create the password, notifications will then stop. i hope this helps you all

There are threads over numerous android sites today reporting this problem. It was reported a month ago as well when the overseas SGS4's were updated. Apparently neither Samsung nor Verizon cared to fix the problem short of requiring a complete factoy reset and clean install of all user apps as is being reported on most sites.
I did a live chat with Samsung technical support today. Its one of those sessions where the person on the other end isn't a technical expert and just has various scripts to try. This is the script they suggested I try this evening:
1. Power the device off (remove and re-insert the battery)
2. Press and hold the Volume Up key and the Home key, then press and hold the Power key
3. When the device vibrates; release only the Power key
4. When the Android system recovery menu displays; release the Volume Up and the Home key.
5. Navigate witth the Volume keys to the WIPE CACHE/PARTITION reset option and press the Power key to select
6. After user data deletes, press teh Power key to reboot system now.
I assume this will wipe all my apps and data? Anybody know the difference between this and just selecting a factory reset from the settings menu?

Can I ask you a few questions about your setup:
(1) Did you factory reset after the upgrade?
(2) Are you signed in to your samsung account?
(3) Did you download Knox? Did you create an account?
(4) Are you using wifi? (This problem appears to only happen when on wifi)
