Just got the samsung galaxy s4 a few days ago. I too am having trouble sending emails or text messages with pictures. Have tried everything that is suggested.. making sure wi-fi is turned off. Made sure i am connected to the LTE/CDMA... etc. Whatsapp seems to be the only way to send images without any problems. Is this a Samsung issue or Verizon?

Have you verified that the files you're trying to send aren't too large? I had a problem sending videos and had to reduce the size in the camera settings.

What is the maximum size a picture can be to send it to my phone? (A Samsung S4.) I have tried e-mailing pictures to my phone from different e-mail accounts and the picture (attachment) always gets deleted- just the text of the message goes through. How small does the picture have to be to go through?

I don't think the problem is the size. I tried cropping the picture and compressing it. I then sent it (it's only 4 KB). It still will not go through to the phone. The phone removes the attachment and will not let the attachment come through- it just says attachment removed no matter how small the attachment is.

You might double-check your sync settings:
settings > accounts > email > settings > choose the e-mail address you're using (if there's more than one) > sync settings > size to retrieve emails > size to retrieve e-mails > ensure it's a reasonable number (i.e., not 1.5 KB)

I am having the same problem as well. Doesn't matter if I send one pic or 10. The email takes hours to send and then may or may not include the pics. I have to some pics on my phone that i need for work and can't get them to email to myself....Sucks.

Thanks for trying out different sizes to test this issue VerizonSue. Here is some info on file sizes that can be sent http://bit.ly/14Oy8QM. Just to be sure, when you email yourself, make sure to use mobilenumber@vzwpix.com. If you send it to vtext.com instead, that will only send a text, which may be causing the issue.

VerizonSue,
I know how important it is to be able to share your pictures and we’re here to help. I see one of my peers sent you the limitations for each picture, but we want to make sure you are able to send them going forward. Please try sending a picture message to yourself and ensure you receive it. If you do, it means they’re sending correctly, it may be the person/group you’re sending it to. If the picture doesn’t get back to your phone number (from your number), please make sure Data is Enabled http://vz.to/1dtoXef . Then, try this Safe Mode http://vz.to/1f0FvNO ;it will not delete anything, but we will be able to test it. Keep us posted to find out if these work.

Had the same problem. Changing the outgoing email from "@vtext" to "@vzwpix" was the perfect solution...thank you @MarquiaF_VZW

Im still having the same issue. Cant send emails with attachments. Reset my phone with Verizon, lost my apps (they said I wouldn't but I did) Their solution was to not use wi fi when sending emails with attachments. REALLY VERIZON?! Turn off the wifi when sending out emails with attachments? Email and attachments were conquered by apparently every company except Verizon over 20 years ago.
Here is the issue... if you turn off the wifi it will then notify you it couldn't send. If you leave it on it hangs indefinitely.
Its not the mail app that comes with the phone, its the Verizon email account. I can successfully send emails with attachments using every account except my Verizon email account in the same app same phone. It hangs under wifi. We shouldn't have to turn our wifi off in order to send larger emails. What is this a scam to get us to use more data?
Fix this issue Verizon!
Its not the galaxy s4, its not the mail app, ITS THE VERIZON EMAIL ACCOUNT ITSELF.
I should be on the VZW payroll by now.
Please respond with the fix for this Verizon. You can test it yourself. Galaxy s4, send email with attachment using standard mail app with wifi on. Email will hang until you turn wifi off. When you turn wifi off, notification will tell you it didn't send. Add another email account that is not Verizon to the same mail app and resend the exact same attachment with wifi on. Sends immediately.
WHAT IS WRONG WITH YOUR SYSTEM?!?!??!?!??!?!?!
