Receiving texts

I upgraded to a Samsung S3 from apple iPhone 5 to the Verizon edge plan. I returned the iPhone as required, but did not turn off I message.  Now I can no longer receive messages from contacts that have iPhones. Any help or suggestions.

Scroll to the bottom and click on "Unlink A Phone Number".

You will need to reset your Apple ID password.

Or go to Deregister and Turn Off iMessage - Apple Support
