Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge Plus Marshmallow update

When is Verizon going to roll out Marshmallow for the S6? Or, do I now have a VERY expensive orphan device since the S7 has been released, and Verizon is heavily marketing it, that I will be paying for the next two years? I got [removal required by the Verizon Wireless Terms of Service] already, when I bought the S6 Edge Plus because I got NONE of the promos from Samsung or Verizon when I bought it. They had excuses to disqualify me on every promo. [Removed] me once, shame on you, [Removed] me twice, shame on me. AND, please, NO telling me that OS UPDATES address "issues". I want the latest OS. Period!

It looks as if the S7 is not selling as advertised because all carriers are offering free or BOGO

considering the edge plus was released about 6 months ago those customers already have a great device not going to upgrade considering we were the first ones to have to pay full price for a device we were never offered bogo or free

Now it looks as id Android N will out in may 2016.

Apparently state of the art is not actually state of the art.

So if what we are waiting on is  s7 sells to peak out it may be a while

As of today Verizon announced another 6.01 update this time for the LG V10 also there was a mention  of the Verizon S5 getting 6.01 mid April.....

It is truly time to remove the carriers from these upgrades so we don't have to wait for them to get all their bloat working

Samsung released the S6 6.01 series of  updates about 1month ago  to all carriers world wide.

So Samsung did their part now the carriers need to step it up.

You are excused for expecting Verizon to answer a question that should be asked to Samsung.

As usual, evading the issues. A non-answer from Verizon. Why no straightforward answers to simple requests for information? I spend nearly $800 for a new device, that doesn't have the latest iteration of the Android OS, yet every other carrier, AND VZW introduces the Galaxy S7 which DOES, and automatically orphans my brand new Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, and I also got NONE of the promotional items or discounts from VZW OR Samsung because of STUPID fine print exclusions, because I don't use credit cards and the like. In other words, I'm not of the wealthy class that gets ALL the perks, while we who struggle to make ends meet GET NOTHING!

Thanks for NOTHING Verizon "Customer Support" !!!

No, wrong, Samsung releases the Marshmallow update to the carriers, but VZW is ALWAYS dead last to push out the updates because they HAVE to mess around, add their skin, bloatware, and disable functions that THEY don't want us to have. I know this for fact, because I was accidentally given a replacement device that had Samsung's original TouchWiz interface, NO VZW splash screen or skin, and none of their bloatware. It was a beautiful thing, operated flawlessly, and had no issues. THEN, VZW pushed out an update, which added all of the aforementioned stuff, and literally ruined my phone. I had nothing but trouble with it from that point forward.

Next time, buy an un-locked phone directly from the manufacturer & you will get faster updates, no carrier bloat, the ability to switch carriers on the fly & a better warranty. (That's what I will be doing) Un-locked phones are many times MUCH less expensive.

Most new phones are ridiculously overpriced IMO.

daddyd01,

We are saddened to hear you feel this way. Verizon Wireless doesn’t want you this unhappy at all. At this time, we do not have a release date on the newest software. Everyone loves having the latest software on their phones. We do appreciate your patience with this. Is there anything that is not working on your phone that we can help you with? We’re always here to make sure that your phone is working like a well oiled machine. I’m concerned to hear that you feel that we are not providing you with certain promotions. Was there something that you were eligible for that you weren’t able to participate in for some reason? I’m sending you a Private Message to gather more information to assist you. Please respond back to me in the Private Message to continue. Thank you.
