Where is the voicemail icon for my new Galaxy?  I bought it unlocked from Samsung but moved everything from my Galaxy S5 (with Verizon) to my Galaxy S8+ (with Verizon).  I need a visual notification that I have voicemail but there's nothing on this phone.

Just to be sure I'm understanding properly, you're receiving your voicemails, it's just not giving you any notification of them, is that correct? Or are you saying that Verizon's Voicemail app doesn't appear to be on the phone?

you might have to select it in settings/notifications or settings/lock screen/notifications.

We are sorry to learn you are having issues with your new phone. You can try to download the Verizon Voice Mail app. However, due to phone specifications for Verizon you may not be able to use it on this unlocked device. Does this provide clarity?

Since VZW hasn't answered correctly, I want to show you what I just found in another case: "SD10, ensuring that you have all the information on hand about our voicemail options is key. We are here to help out. Regarding visual voicemail, and your unlocked S8; I unfortunately do have to be the bearer of less than desirable news. The unlocked S8 is only compatible with our standard voicemail service, as visual voicemail services are integrated into our branded devices. I recommend utilizing a third party solution, such as Google Voice, to add visual voicemail to your device."

I spent yesterday on the phone with customer support (escalated to tier 2) with no resolution. How does tech support not know that visual voicemail is not available for unlocked S8? The tech said several times, while researching, that I should just get a VZW phone. With no resolution, I was forwarded to Samsung who immediately said  that the VZW tech should have remained on the line and that the problem is with Verizon. My requested resolution is that you tell product development, marketing and sales to recalculate the cost of punishing customers who activate unlocked phones. How much revenue are you really losing to unlocked phones? My account has paid you $200 per month for $15 years. I'm now moving to Sprint who will pay off the balance of my other VZW phone and termination fees. VZW can rest easy knowing that visual voicemail remains protected from my unlocked phone.
