I received the following update (G900VVRU2DQI2) for my S5 the other day and ever since then my battery has been draining very quickly.

I have since gotten a new battery and no change.

Any help wouid be appreciated.

Thanks,

Greg

So it looks like the factory reset did the trick.

Battery is lasting longer and my phone has been purged.

Thanks all for the help!

Usually after you get an update it is a good idea to go into the recovery mode and clear the cache partition. This will clear out all the old files. Also recheck all your settings to make sure that the update did not change any of the settings that you had before the update. Check you play store settings to make sure that they are not updating when ever they want. I always have my settings on update wifi only and not to update automatically. The are a lot of different things that can cause this and I am sure someone will come up with something else that may help you with this problem. If you go into the battery setting it should tell you in there what is using most of the power

check settings/notifications...the new update could be notifying everything, select what you want in notifications.
