That's what I'm being told by an customer service rep right now during a chat.  They asked for my baseband version and then tried telling me that that version did not exist.  Get ready for a long wait in getting these data drops fixed.

I had a similar experience with Samsung when I called them about the android 3.2 to android 4.0.4 update on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 back when many of them would not update.  They wanted me to send it to them but they gave me warning because of the unheard of base band number I read them and I read it 3 times to them that after their inspection of it they would probably send it back not repaired with the android 4.0.4 ICS and they would void my warranty as well.  I just kept the Tab and later on I guess they changed the update some and it finally worked.  Soooo I have about as much faith in Samsung people as I have in many of the VZW people.  With Samsung and VZW it is always good to be able to point the finger at someone else,  I would only take what Samsung said with a large grain of salt.  It is really bad when you can't get any support from the company the sells the phone and you can't get any support from the company that makes the phone and these phone are very complicated.  Much of that update was Samsung since it gave us some of the upgrades for multi tasking.  Other companies pushed much of that at an earlier date but VZW was the last I heard.  VZW is last with everything but for me at least their network works where I need it to work.  I hope they helped you with your data drops.  You did not say above.  If you got it fixed I hope you come back and let us know what was done as other here are complaining of the same thing.
