It seems as though S3's from other carriers may have this ability but I can not figure it out.
Is it possible to have the following?:
•Secure Lock screen enabled only after 30 minutes.
AND
•Swype lock screen from 0 to 30 minutes until the secure lock screen kicks in.
I do not want to have to enter my Pattern every single time I use my phone throughout the day(Which is why the duration is set to 30 minutes), but I dont want to hit the power button in my pocket and have it completely unlocked.
I would like to have to swype every time regardless, and only enter my pattern if the phone has been locked for 30 minutes.
This should be stock functionality for an S3, so if Verizon does not have this it should be included in the next update.

You need a third party app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teslacoilsw.widgetlocker

Thank you for the suggestion, I did end up purchasing that last night after searching around a bit more and it does solve the issue at hand.
I think that its a little ridiculous that this is not configurable with the current verizon gs3 software. It looks like that either other providers GS3s do have this functionality or that the functionality was removed at some point along the way according to this site:
http://www.androidcentral.com/how-set-lock-screen-and-security-options-galaxy-s3
I will confirm tomorrow with a friend who has an AT&T GS3. Either way I think its a waste to have to pay for this functionality and also have to worry about yet another app that is running all the time and could possibly drain the battery (although luckily in this case WidgetLocker is developed by the same people who made novalauncher which I use so im sure it is very trustworthy.

Actually the behavior is a stock Android function. My Nexus 7 acts in a similar manner. The only differences is the custom tweaks Samsang did to their UI including how the the lockscreen looks.
