Unable to Activate S8

I purchased 2 S8s. One activated as soon as I got it via customer service and the other one Verizon says can't be activated until the launch date. None of my friends who got the S8 or S8+ is having issues. What is the problem?

Chat support said they are having troubles. I've read some other links stating that new s8 identifying numbers are not loaded all systems quite yet. They said wait for an email.
