After the update for my Samsung s7 edge notification sounds will not work..for instance messages will not let me know of a text.  How can this be rectified or can I go back to the previous software.

You can't revert back to the previous version of the OS.

I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

Ok. How do I get the sound for notifications (email, messages, etc) after the update?

I don't want to sound like a smart [removed]  have you gone into notifications and see what is set to notify you.

Our one phone after the update had to reset a lot of different sounds and notifications

Here's the steps I would run through. I'd stop and re-test after each change you make.

1. Navigate to Settings > Sounds and Vibration.

2. Make sure Sound Mode is set to Sound.

3. Select Volume and make sure notifications volume is turned up.

4. Make sure Do Not Disturb is turned Off

5. Try selecting Notification Sounds and changing it to a different sound.

6. Navigate to Settings > Notifications and make sure its turned on for your messaging app.

7. Settings > Notifications > Advanced (top-right) >  Open the menu from the three dots on the top-right > Reset app preferences

8. Settings > Backup and reset > Reset Settings

I have the same issue the sound quit working today. Did not perform any updates. Check notification sounds, sikent, vibrate almost everything I can think of . Used stock app or 3rd party doesn't matter doesn't work any fixes
