***Announcement: Early next week, we’ll be merging the current Fios and Wireless Communities into the all new Verizon Community! Beginning the evening of Sunday 12/4, both Communities will be placed in read-only mode. You’ll still be able to visit the Communities and browse content, but login will be disabled. I have been with Verizon almost 20 years. I just went in and upgraded my phone to a Galaxy A51. Nothing special. Not very expensive. I have talked to reps here, I have called, I really need to speak to someone about all the fees I was charged when doing this!!!! I am extremely angry about this. The only reason I got a new phone was because mine WASNT LOADING ANYTHING!!!!!! I am older and I barely  use the thing. I was chaged SO MANY fees just to buy another phone from them!!!! A $40 activation fee, $19.99 Set Up & Go Fee, $29.99 Redux Single Line Membership!!! And I believe a $25 restocking fee. I am so angry right now. I wonder how many other times I was jipped when my family & I bought phones from these people. I truly beileve I will be returning this phone within my 14 day policy and leave these scam artist.

Hello, cthompson777. We are truly disheartened to hear of all these fees you were charges. This not the kind of experience we want for any of our customers. The activation fee is what we charge for in store, and upgrades through an agent ($20.00 online). Although, the Set Up & Go, and the Redux Single Line Membership are not services we offer. We would never charge you, to help you set up your phone. And we are unsure what Redux membership is. We can help confirm if this location you visited was an indirect store for you. What was the address for the store you visited?    CassieG_VZW

A simple search finds a Redux membership is a service offered/provided by Verizon third party retailers.  See:

You went to a fake Verizon store. The "set up and go" fee isn't a Verizon one, neither is this membership. The upgrade fee, while bogus, can be avoided by buying the unlocked version from the factory. Doing so means retail purchase and not payment plan.

Returning the phone is gonna rack up a $50 restocking fee..not sure that's worth it for a cheap phone.
