Re: Verizon Wireless 4G LTE...is there a problem or is it just absolutely misleading?

Or maybe all those unlimtied data people tethering their phones to their PC and bittorrenting everything they see all day.

150 Mbps per sector divided by up to 400 users( which in large metro area would be easy ) is 375 kbps average speed per user. So yes just a few people using Netflix or Youtube( quite common on smartphones ) can affect other. Remember Spotify premium and Google's new premium music service both stream music at 320 kbps. And music streaming is likely an activity one keeps on for hours on end.

Does your signal get "stuck" as well?  For example, it would get stuck on 2 bars 3G permanently, until you either reboot or turn airplane mode on/off.

This article seems to sum up the issue...  However..I've been having this issue way before the latest update.

Just think now all those voice and text messages don't use any of this bandwidth but it will when they cut the voice users over to VoLTE.  Not sure where the text messages will be put.  Don't forget either that VZW will continue to oversell the bandwidth to new users as well.

You do realize that it rakes at least 6500 text messages to equal ONE MB and it takes 1024 MB to equal a GB. As far as VoLTE that uses less than 24 kbps. It would take over 5000 minutes to equal a GB. Once Verizon moves voice and text off of 1X and 3G they can use those frequencies for LTE thus solving the capacity issue.

I don't think any one even with unlimited data would want to do netfilx with 64kbs. Most of them only use it like that if the speeds are still good. Really no matter what, even with caps that by the way don't do much good due to usage patterns. Most are going to use there data in the daytime and with only a 10x10 LTE tower at 700mhz having to cover a bigger area due to spacing it's more prone to getting overloaded even with a bunch of 2gb users.

I really think for the most part that it's the number of users that matters more than how many have unlimited data/have it at all. I have seen sprint 3G (All users on that network have unlimited data) be faster than Verizon 4G LTE with prime signal Vs sprint having okay signal.

From the op, it sounds like a phone issue though or that is in NYC were the network is messed up still.

Hi jre422,

I have a Galaxy S3 as well and I can understand how frustrating it must be not having  my performing at its best. I checked my resources and I learned that other customers have resolved similar performance issues after the latest software update by doing a factory reset. Please follow instructions at this link to do a factory (hard) reset http://bit.ly/LfV00q to your device and test. Keep us posted.

Factory reset wont fix it. I did it twice. Verizon screwed this up and is now blaming google and samsung. I hear sprint doesnt have these problems
