Voicemail Problem

I'm unable to check my voicemail through the My Verizon app since the lollipop update at the beginning of March. Prior to the update I received notifications at the top of my home screen when I got a new voicemail, now I don't.

I also had visual voicemail set up and never used *86 but am no longer able to use visual voicemail either. I have already done the most recent software update to fix the bugs related to lollipop upgrade but that hasn't fixed my voicemail issues. I have a Samsung Galaxy S5. Any suggestions?

ergRN,
That extra information truly does help. Let's try a few steps. First, let's double check what software version we are working with. There was a very recent update, that not all customers have downloaded http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-97648/ Also, can you please reset the visual voicemail app http://www.verizonwireless.com/support/knowledge-base-97270/

I want to make sure you have access to your voicemails, ergRN. Do you receive an error message when trying to access the voicemail application? Are you able to successfully dial *86 to access basic voicemail?

I do not receive an error message when trying to access the voicemail app, instead the app looks like it opens, flashes onto the screen for a split second, and then disappears. I am able to dial *86 to access my voicemail and can listen to my messages. It's the visual voicemail that isn't working. I am unsure if i mentioned this, but I'm also no longer receiving voicemail notifications on the home screen in the notification bar at the top of the screen.

The update changed the way that you get your voicemail. You will have to use the Voicemail app. Once it's set up, you will start getting your voicemails again, and notifications on top of your screen like before.
