Who's the one who wrote the code and manufactured the device? Maybe you should try a different company next time?
Here's some hint Verizon doesn't write the code nor does not manufacture the device.

Big Red chose to leave us with the 5.0 update instead of going to 5.1.1 update. Now the other carriers are pushing the newest 6.0.1 and Big Red will probably leave us hanging again. Samsung can't fix it if the carrier won't won't send out the updates.

Samsung and various manufacturers already went on record they decide what to update and then based on contractual obligation get the software needed from carriers and do then write the code. People will argue with you and oh they do on other forums, but of course you don't visit them. Oh and people do complain on other social venues to Samsung reps, but of course you probably don't go through all of it either.

Yes I have been to the all sources on trying to fix this brick. Samsung says the update was provided but Big Red decided not to go through with the latest update. 5.1.1. So until the phone is fully updated it will not work properly. Can we agree there is a 5.1.1 update out there. So if there is why is Big Red the only s5 still on 5.0. I have seen a fully functioning s5 out there just not Big Reds.

Oh that's right. Samsung decided Big Red was not going to get the update but every other carrier would. Cmon.

That's right. It has happened BEFORE on more than one occasion. An update was skipped because it was taking too long that they updated the next major version over spending resources to deliver another update then they major update.
