Maybe it's time for all of us who have been affected by the Google Software update to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the local news. And tell them how Google's normal operating procedure is to put out updates that make users phones inoperable after customers spend hundreds upon hundreds of dollars. And let them know how Verizon wants it's customers to contact Google on our own when they and Verizon pretty much hang up on their customers. I wouldn't be so upset if Verizon and Google owned their mistakes and announced it to us and actually come up with an acceptable time frame and compensation for our time and troubles. And please Verizon train your employees to know how to properly troubleshoot a phone and find out the problem and proper way to fix it before you tell us to do a factory reset! This does not solve the problem it only makes us erase everything on our phone due to your lack of knowledge on how to actually fix it. I miss the old days where company's bent over backwards to provide great customer service. If you made this your number 1 goal, everybody would switch to Verizon and you would corner the market.

Your suggestion about rolling back the update is a excellent idea. I understand about the lock on the phone so that you can't do that now but they should have a way to put the original software back on the phone. They can do this by putting a recovery partition on the phone that would put the original software back on the phone til they can figure out what went wrong with the update they pushed out. With the price that they want for these phones now days they really need to rethink this whole subject about updates and how they deal with the customer that buys these phones.
I received a message from DavidC_VZW that he sent me a private message to help me further, so I sent him my number and best time to call me - no call was ever made. I ended up going into the store and speaking with one of the people there. After discussing what was done so far, they agreed to RMA me another phone since it's well within the warranty period. From what I'm reading online, so far, that really hasn't helped other people, so I'm a little skeptical if any fix will work until Samsung and Google figure out what the real issue is and make a software update specifically for the S8/S8+ that will fix the bugs the 8.0 update caused.

I have had a S8 plus, and whatever they pushed has really messed up my phone. It's been going on for months. The freezing. All my stuff is on my storage card. I run frequent malware and such checks. I have almost 400 left to pay on my phone. I cannot afford a new phone. The verizon was excuse after excuse on the error. No help at all!!!!!!! SO DONE
I have problem reciving calls. We try everything, tech coach and verizon customer service. I change sim card and...... NOTHING! We pay lot of money for verizon service. I'm thining change company next year. To much money , and sh...t service. My phone was working great, untill april update.
All my options are not availble to select, battery is just running down after one text send or recieved and calls. This is a mess. Want to installed latest update because this is jsut terrible - a dang mess

The software updates are actually released by the manufacturer, so we are in the dark as to when the updates will be released. As soon as an update will be available to our customers' phones, it will be available to download automatically on your phone.
