30 days after purchase, my S8+ camera has failed. The screen is black and after 30 seconds, I get an error: Server error occurred. Restart Camera. I have done a factory reset to repair it without success. Now verizon wants to replace it with a refund. Anybody had this issue?
I have not heard of or seen this myself. Sounds like a hardware defect. Since it is under warranty you should be given a replacement device.
DAVE90670, we always want all the apps on your phone working perfectly. Let’s find a resolution to this camera issue together. We want to try a couple more steps and get a bit more information from you please. Please put the phone in Safe Mode and test the camera notifying us if you still have the same issue while in Safe Mode. Here are the steps: http://spr.ly/65898csql . Has the phone been wet or damaged at all?

No water, no damage....did a factory reset to see if that would help. Looks to be hardware issue. Samsung will replace it if I mail it in and wait 2-3 weeks. Verizon will give me a reconditioned phone, but continue to charge me full price for it. BOTH VERIZON AND SAMSUNG SUPPORT SUCK. No, they did not offer a refund like the editing job done says in the my original post. I would gladly take a refund.
DAVE90670, I know that having a working camera is essential for a smartphone. Thank you for confirming the troubleshooting steps done to fix this issue. It is most certainly a hardware defect which can happen from time to time. We are happy to replace the device free of charge, but if it is more than 14 days after purchase, we are not able to issue a refund for the equipment. The replacements issued on our end are certified like new replacements. They undergo a 100+ point inspection to ensure that there will be no issue once taken out of the box. The alternative with going through Samsung is an option if you have a device to use while they are repairing/replacing. If you would like to proceed with the replacement, I have sent a private message to your inbox. Please reply for further assistance. I look forward to working with you soon.

You don't seem to understand the issue. I am paying full price for a used phone. Call it reconditioned, certified, used.....its all the same; not new. I am paying for a new phone for the next 23 months, but receiving a not-new phone. Do you sell certified phones for the same price as brand new phone? Of course not. The only time that happens is when phone breaks after 15 days.
There's nothing more important than being able to use your camera when you need it. When checking, we weren't able to find any Samsung confirmed known issues, so let's figure out what options are available to help. When did you begin having trouble? Which camera(front or rear facing) is experiencing the issue? What changes were made on the phone prior to the trouble starting?

I feel your PAIN i am still paying for a $900.00 phone that I can not use the front camera. I have taken it into Best Buy, Verizon and called Samsung. Everyone wants me to pay for a replacement (refurbish) this SUCKS, i have only had the phone for about 3 months this is such a RIP OFF.
I have cleared the cache, data and did a factory reset nothing has worked and it seems that no one cares that Samsung is putting out LEMON phones. I am sooooo MAD that I brought this phone. What a WASTE of money that is going to take me 2 yrs. to pay off but can not use all of it features.
I even have the verizon insurance on the phone but they also want to charge me a $199.00 fee.
MOOOOOOOORE MOOOOOOONEY!!!!!!!!!!!! in order to have a working phone that never worked right since i brought it. Samsung is putting out bad phones maybe i will go back to Apple once i finish paying for this broken phone that never worked right straight out of the box.
As of 2 updates ago, my REAR facing camera has come up with error, but selfie camera is perfectly fine. I tried the same stuff - clear cache, factory reset (from within os menus)- same error. Tried safe mode and clear cache/ factory reset from the android boot menu - same result.
