This happens at work where I'm connected to wi-fi. I notice the phone keeps scanning for wifi despite being connected to a particiular wifi and this may be causeing the battery to drain. Any suggestions on how to resolve this?
How exactly do you have it plugged in? In a wall charger? In a USB port on the computer?
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.
I'm using a wall charger. I don't have this problem at home doing the same.
There are a number of wifi networks in my building at work, so I'm thinking
the phone may be scanning wifi sources. I'm connected to our work wifi,
however, so I don't know if that makes sense.
un-check scanning for other wi-fi when connected to wi-fi.
I have this feature unchecked. Thanks, though.
Are you using a wall charger or the wall charger? As in 3rd party or the one that came with the phone. The one that comes with the phone is a 2 amp charger. If you're plugging into a some random USB charger, you might only be getting 0.5 amps. Less if it's a particularly crappy charger.
Any device that charges at more than 0.5 amps over a USB cable is using varying degrees of resistance across the data lines to let the device know how much current it can draw. If the device doesn't see the expected resistance across the data lines, it will only pull up to 0.5 amps.
Great to know. I'll check when I'm back at work tom. Thanks!
