I think all my apps are installed to my phone since I've had SD card slots
fail and made sure to get a phone with enough Storage. I will remove my SD
card as recommended, I thought you could F.R. with the Removable Storage
box unchecked, but it makes sense to not take any chances. Thanks!

The S7 doesn't have enough internal storage as far as I'm concerned. I couldn't function without the card.

Yep, the lack of a 64 GB model in the U.S. has made Removable Storage a
requirement for those of us who use the device as the media hub it was
designed to be....

Have you gone into the apps that you mention in the application manager and manually tap each app and go to storage and see if the cache is cleared in them. I have notice that when I clear the cache from the internal storage that sometimes there are some apps that didn't clear. Also if you clear the clear data sometimes this helps. I don;t know if you want to do that with Chrome because it might clear your bookmarks and history but it may help with some of the other apps. I got the update on the Verizon app and it would not open right or would just freeze up and when I cleared the data out of it it worked for awhile but I think the problem with that app is they need a patch for it to work right.

Will try on each app I regularly use and hopefully my less frequently-used
apps will get patches before I need them again. Thanks!

DOGBODYSPEAKS, let's get your apps working like they should. Since this is happening with multiple apps and right after your software update, I would suggest running the software repair assistant.
https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/samsung-update-upgrade-assistant/ This will help if they were any issues with the software install. Please back-up your content before you do this, but this will be less drastic than doing the Factory Data Reset. Let us know what happens after you do this.

I'll try that - haven't had time to backup and try anything drastic but
will later today. Thanks!

I installed the Assistant on my PC, with phone connected and started the
process. It gave the "may take 30-90 minutes" warning. After around 75
minutes it was at 66% progress, stayed there for another hour and I went to
bed (thinking/hoping maybe it was in the most detailed part of the repair
so taking longer than the previous 65%). When I got up it was still at 66%
(see attached picture of my monitor I took in a hurry before I left for
work) and the program is unresponsive - I am guessing when I return I'll
need to force it to close. Could the hang up be my device, totally not
happy with Nougat, or my PC, which is otherwise running well, or something
else? Should I try again, in case there was simply an anomaly?

This is exactly what happened when I tried the SUA update. Finally after more than an hour of seeing 66%, I disconnected the phone and it was locked up on the download screen. I has to used the power on, home, volume up key combination to get the phone to start again. Kathy65793, this may cause me to rethink doing trying the SUA update again this weekend.

I had a lot of problems with the SUA when I first used it. First I couldn't tell if it downloaded to my computer or not. The info they gave was that once I plug my phone into my computer it would popup but didn't . There was a problem about the file being in the wrong location. .As far as the progress of the SUA I think after like 50% that means that it downloaded. After that it extracts that file into a folder and then in that folder it makes it a zip file which means it has to unzip that file into another folder which becomes the MD5 file that actually goes into the phone. I think the zip file is like 2GB and the MD5 file is like 4GB. This all depends on what size the backup is on your phone. I have dsl so when I would use the SUA I was there all day. If it got stuck at 65-66% something might have gone wrong with the download. I had enough room on the phone for the update but I had to clean up my computer to make room for the download from SUA. I think it was about 8-10 GB on my computer by the time all was said and done. The SUA is a good program but not a great one. I think once they get all the bugs worked out of it it could be a great program. Have you tried Smart Switch or Kies ? They basically are the same but some people like the smart switch better. Good luck on which ever program you use and keep us posted on how you made out.
I put my phone in download mode when I did this. Volume down-Power-Home. For some reason this seem to go faster then when I just had the phone powered on.
