My email notification shows I have an unread email but everytime I check it goes away. 15 minutes later I am notified again only to go through the same process. Does anyone know why or what I can do to stop this if there really is no email coming through?

That would be very upsetting. I use several different email accounts. If I continually got notifications that would drive me insane. Let's get this fixed. Which email account is giving you this issue? Please try deleting the account and readding.
