galaxy III delema.???????????

The Galaxy III is the best phone I have ever had, and I have tried them all. This is however my first contract phone and the phone I got to begin was a special coupon offered by an  odd ball company with no choice for insurance. i do believe and stand behind the opinion that this is absolutely the best phone available that suits all my needs and wants and then some. But when my phone simply just "went dark" and stopped showing any picture, I am absolutely disappointed that my option comes down to paying in the area of $200 to replace the inner LCD screen when there was not any damage or misuse to explain the device failure.. I am a single mother of 2 kids, 200 to fix something that was of no fault of mine is ridiculous to have to decide on. I have phone service that does me absoultly no good and I cannot get out of because of the contract that sucked me into this committed relationship with this device. Where is the backing of SAMSUNG behind their product?????? And why should VERIZON care to go any way out of their way to help a customer because no matter what, they are going to get their money. As a person in the world who has actually given her last dollar to a homeless person when I didn't even know how me and my 2 kids were going to move the empty of gas car they call home to a safer place, this world and its views about the society around them is not something I can say that I am proud of. I think that it can at least be a concern of the companies who provide the technology that is sweeping the nation to look at the product they provide and at least make it an option to decide on investing even a dollar into something that doesn't back its quality of life. this phone should not have just went black after not even 3 months of use. Regardless if I was given the phone from SAMSUNG or not, insurance or not, warranty or not, this phone has the name SAMSUNG on it as well as VERIZON and that should mean something to someone.

You have your 2 kids living in a car and you're giving money to strangers and buying 4G smartphones...?

I thought they were given away by our government to those who ask for them.  There must be something here the OP does not understand about entitlements.  No one should be living on the street with 2 kids calling a car with it's empty tank of gas home.  I know being proud is one thing but when it comes to 2 kids and their safety that is something else.  This has to be some kind mental cruelty to others on this forum.  There is just now way this can be true.

As I was typing, I knew I would get that reaction. The phone was a gift,

and yes I had a dollar and it seemed to help the other person and this is

exactly my point. The world is full of harsh judgmemntal people who out of

no concern for the point of my post and the idea that maybe everyone isn't

as self centered as we should b. you know only what I have told you about

me, yet that is the focus of your response.?

This is true, and it has been my experience through out my struggles that

the world is blind to the thought of people being educated and in a bad

situation at the same time...the way people look at me is amazing when they

see me on the streets, but after spending a few hours with me, the people

who whole heartedly go thorough life without preconceived judgment are

responsive to the battle that society creates for the sake of not having to

deal with it. this just came out when I was simply expressing the

frustration I have with a high priced piece of technology that represents

the fact that without the money to give, not everyone is given an equal

chance...and the name on a product does nothing to represent the humanities

behind the people banking on the fact that there is always a catch or a

hoop to jump through in order to save even a buck

Just seems to me that any responsible parent would sell the highly expensive and luxurious smartphone to help take care of their kids. But that's beside the point. You purchased a phone from an "odd ball company" and expect a service provider who neither made the phone nor sold you the phone to do what exactly? If it was purchased through an authorized dealer then regardless of insurance it would have a 1 year warranty on it which verizon wireless honors for free as long as there's no physical/liquid/cosmetic damage.

If the phone was a gift then when you brought it to VZW as a BYOD you would be on a month to month not a long term contract.  Your service can be stopped at anytime.   What you have told me about yourself is more than I need or want to know about someone who puts 4g phone above and beyond their kid when on the street.  The phone would have been sold when it was working to put the money into the safety of the kids.  Money is not given to others either my kids would be the most important thing in my life or ANY adults life.  Just the way I think.  Maybe that is wrong?

I regret to see there is a dilemma with your 1st contract phone, 8casoer8. I'd have to agree, this is a pretty nice device!  Having a reliable device is a priority. Although you purchased the device from a 3rd party, there should still be some type of warranty. It normally lasts for a year.  What happened when you called the company? Is there any damage to the phone? Let's begin there so we know which route to take.
