Solved! Go to Correct Answer
1. From the menu bar at the top of the Verizon Wireless website, select My Verizon > My Devices > Activate or Switch Device.
2. Select "Activate a Device on an Existing Line"
3. Select the number you want to activate the phone on.
4, From there, it should walk you through the remainder. You may need the IMEI (Device ID) or ICCID (SIM), which would normally be on the box for your new phone.

If the SIM card is the same size, you can simply move the SIM card from the old phone and install it in the new phone. Boot it up and amazingly the phone is activated. No fuss. No mess.

True enough, but the Galaxy S5 uses Micro SIM, while the Galaxy S8 uses Nano SIM.
I wasn't sure which models of the Galaxy phones switched to the Nano SIM card.
