I want to delete a draft message that I got on the wrong person and do not want to send. The message just sits there as unsent and I think it might be sent accidentally. I have not been able to do anything and I don't want to do a manual backspace until I get the whole message deleted. It's a long message.

Assuming by message you mean a text message, to delete it just backspace out the text.

That doesn't work. It just keeps coming back as a draft as soon as I leave that screen. I'm using Message+ (version 6.6.4) on a Samsung S8.

I know how important it is not to send a message to the wrong person, rhw80.
If you open the message that is a "draft", you can press and hold the draft message until you get a pop-up option to Select All. Tap on Select All, and then the message will be highlighted. When highlighted, you can tap the backspace key on your keyboard. This will delete the entire message at once.
Please let me know if you are able to do this successfully.
