losing internet

I have a Samsung galaxy e 8.  It is my internet connection though Verizon.  However, my internet keeps cutting out. I suspect it is my location.  I have 4G LTE and the LTE may be the issue.  What I don't understand is why my old tablet (also my internet connection) worked fine, and this one comes and goes.  So, if it is my location, is there anything I can do to correct the problem?  Is it possible that the LTE is causing this and if so can it be turned off? Or, is there some way to strenghten my signal?  Please help!

KARWIT6,

The Galaxy S8 is an awesome phone! We want to make sure that you are receiving the 4G connection that you deserve. Let’s figure this out. What Zip Code are you currently in? Does the 4G connection go away when you are mostly indoors or outdoors? Do you know any other VZW users in your area with this same problem?

Have you tried Wi-Fi calling?  The VZW network strength won't be an issue with Wi-Fi calling.  You could also look into a VZW network extender.

location, location, location....the wi-fi extender may help but a poor connection is still a poor connection!!!

My zip code is 14009. It seems to happen mostly inside, but I haven't

really used it outside that much at this location. And, no I don't know if

there is any VZW user in this area with the same problems, but I haven't

asked anyone either.

I am not sure what WiFi calling is. I don't know if it makes a difference

that my tablet is my WiFi source. Could you explain just what it is and

where to look for it?

I think jrh4054 misunderstood your problem. Wi-Fi Calling routes your calls through your Wi-Fi connection rather than the mobile network, and is a solution for poor call quality in an area with poor coverage; it wouldn't help with having a poor data connection.

You mention that your tablet is your Wi-Fi source. Am I understanding correctly that you have mobile hotspot enabled on your tablet, and your phone is connection to it via Wi-Fi for your internet? if the phone is disconnected from Wi-Fi and using its own mobile data, does it have the same problems as the tablet?

Unfortuately, I don't have that kind of phone. As far as the WiFi, my

set-up doesn't require the WiFi be on to access the internet. I only use

it to communicate with my printer and then I have to turn it back off to

access any further data that I might need to print. As far as the

hotspots, I haven't used them. My kids have, but I am not sure if they

have to turn on the WiFi to do so.

The tablet may be able to better handle marginal signals more effectively than the S8. The few times that I've run my S7 Edge on 4G/LTE, it holds up quite well.

I live in an area where I often get four bars on the phone, but, when inside buildings where the signal drops down to two, I'm still able to keep a connection.
