I wonder how much of this was caused by Verizon I just read what they did to Bixby

I purchased 2 S8+'s. I updated one and began getting the DQA message, about 2 every minute only on that one updated phone. I decided to go down to the Verizon store to have them resolve this. They spent 45 min on the phone with THEIR technical support and basically went through the same list of solutions we've seen posted. None of them would work. Additionally, I had a Samsung GearS watch that would not install (Error Code 5).
The other phone WITHOUT the update worked fine, no errors and the same watch installed fine. I asked them to wipe the phone so I could start over without the update. Several technicians in the store told me that would NOT work. They stated the update is not removed by restoring the phone to the factory image. I found this difficult to believe, so I said, "Fine, give me another phone!" For whatever reason, and I don't care what the reason is at this point, this phone is not performing as it should, you can't fix it, so as far as I'm concerned it's defective and I demand a replacement. They provided me with a new replacement and transferred all of the apps I spent 6 hours previously installing, the watch installed properly and I left the store with a properly working phone. Verizon solved my problem! I am now, once again happy and WILL NOT allow the software update to install until Samsung corrects this. I fail to understand why Verizon isn't hammering Samsung about this AND, WHY they are still pushing out this defective update. It's not a smart business stragegy in my opinion as it's hurting Samsung's image. If I ran Samsung I would order this update to be stopped IMMEDIATELY until it's fixed. Also, it doesn't appear the Verizon tech support in their stores are aware of this either. Each day this is not resolved means MORE unhappy and frustrated customers for this product. It's absolutely AMAZING why more immediate action isn't being done to stop this update. Simply amazing.... But Verizon nicely provided me a new phone without the update and I am now happy again. The folks in the store were great to work with!

Everyone is all about I phones. And yet here you are with a Galaxy S8. Because I phones are has beens. Sales on iPhones continue to drop. It'll get fixed. Samsung doesn't write the Android OS. They just make the hardware.

Verizon just sells phones and accessories. They don't write software. They don't make hardware. It was a Security Update to the Nougat OS that caused it.

Factory Data Reset will solve the issue. I FDRed my phone two days ago, and haven't had an issue. They aren't pushing the update anymore. Because I haven't gotten a notice that an update is available yet.

I disabled background communications for the DQA app. It helped... somewhat. I still get the error message once every few hours. Samsung really needs to push a fix.

QUESTION: New to the android. What/how do you get voicemail messages
without using a pay app?
