Please I have a Verizon s7 edge that runs on 7.0. And I have always updated the monthly security patches. But recently, when I touched on update, it keeps giving me a page with this message
"Webpage not available
The webpage at https://cdn.vzwdm.com/images/CheckNew_Android8.0Oreo_Planning.jpg could not be loaded because:
net::ERR_CONNECTION_RESET'"
Please can anyone tell me if his has the same problem or what my be the reason?
I'll appreciate your comments.
Thanks

Because of the problems Oreo caused S8 users, I would encourage you to delay installing it on your phone until the problems can be fixed.

When you get this message about an update is it coming from your phone or
one of the apps on the phone? That jpg looks like something from one of the apps.
Try going into settings - system updates and see if you get the same update message.

Thanks so much.
The message is from the phone.
I have even hardreset the phone but it still pop up whenever I touch on syetem update in setting.
I wonder if it has anything to do with Verizon 8.0 upgrade. That is the page that usually pop up.
Thanks again

I have the S7 Edge and when I go into the settings-system update I get the same thing but I am not getting the err_ connection_ reset thing. I am getting the whole picture.
I tried this yesterday when I read your post and it just said my phone was up to date.
This is weird tho because when the phone updated from lollipop to marshmallow even when it updated to nougat I never got this before. Very interesting please keep us posted if you get anymore notices on this.

Thanks.
Its quite a relief that I am not alone. I just hope when Verizon finally pushes its 8.0 update, the issue will be resolved. I will always leave you any observation. Keep me posted of any development please.
Thank you.

Kathy65793, you are not alone with receiving this image. This is simply the device letting you know that the new update has not yet rolled out to your device. The updates do come out over the air. When you receive notification that the software is available, simply install. I hope this is beneficial. Is all else working smoothly on your device?

I'm gonna hold off on updating to Oreo right away. After the LOLLIFLOP OS update disaster a few years ago that turned mine and almost everyone else's Galaxy S5's from beautifully working phones into bricks, I'm taking a wait and see approach. I'll let everyone else that doesn't believe me be the ginuea pigs.

DMZMAN, this is a very good decision. These major OS updates seem to always cause major issues that could have and should have been resolved before they're broadcast.
