If this is the Oreo update that failed, you might consider delaying downloading/installing it until some of the issues being raised here are fixed.

It’s upsetting to attempt an update then see that screen, veladitya. You came to the right place for some help. Please tell us what you were attempting to update when this happened. The more details the better. For instance, is it the Oreo update that jrh4054 speculated about? Do you still see this error when attempting to update?

Android version 8 is Oreo. Have you tried to update them through the play store? I have problems sometimes with the galaxy app and have found that you can update all the apps on the phone through the play store.

I appreciate the added details, veladitya. I know how important it is to make sure you're able to update the software on your phone.
Are you connected to Wi-Fi when you attempt to update the software? Have you tried using the Software Upgrade Assistant http://spr.ly/6581DwYKB;

Making sure all your apps are updated is definitely important, veladitya. I appreciate you keeping us posted.
Have you tried updating the apps via the Google Play store? If there are any pending updates for those apps, you will see them in the Google Play store.
