samsung s4 is having battery issues since latest software update

Are you talking about the NG6 or NK1 update?

It also switched me from 4g to 3g.

I didn't get the problems a lot of people got after updating to NG6, so I am a little weary to update to NK1 since NK1 is suppose to fix the problems of NG6.

I am also experience a drastic decline in battery life. Drains from 60% to 13% in less than 5 hours while just sitting on my nightstand.

I also noticed I am no longer in 4G, but in 3G.

Yes!  I'm having the exact same issue.  Since the update last week.  I looked up my battery usage and the operating system is using up the bulk of it.
