1) Messaging app won't scroll since the software update Sept 9. I can't get to anything except the first 8 threads. I can drag the list to see about 4 more threads, then it jumps back to the top of the list. If I restart the phone it's gets fixed for a while, then the problem returns. Is there a fix? (Also, It is also
amazingly slow to convert the phone numbers to the contact names now.)
2) Other problem: the battery now goes to yellow by 5pm. I use the phone very little during the day, no Internet surfing, just a few text messages. The battery used to be ~50% at 10 pm. Is there some setting the update changed that I need to fix?
I have Android 4.4.2; updated to I435VRUBOH3 on Sept 9, 2015

The cache clear worked for a while. Now my contacts are a blank screen until I do a couple searches. Cache clear fixes that temporarily too. Then the problem returns. Is there a better fix? A patch for the update? I unplugged my phone at 7 am, took a photo, sent it as a message, and now about 3pm the battery is almost yellow. Did the update change some sort of battery settings somewhere?

Factory reset will erase everything and start fresh since the cache clear works for a while, but not permanently.
- From any Home screen, tap the Menu key.
- Tap Settings.
- Tap the Accounts tab.
- Tap Backup and reset.
- Uncheck Automatic restore to clear the check box.
- If desired, tap Back up my data to clear the check box.
- Tap Factory data reset.
- Tap Reset device.
You can restore your contacts when you log back into your Google account after resetting the phone. You can go back to the Play Store app to download fresh installs of the apps you need.
