When I travel to South America do I have to enroll in the travel plan in advance or do the charges automatically hit as I call from those countries back to teh US?

If you would like to activate TravelPass, you may follow the steps under item 6: https://www.verizonwireless.com/support/travelpass-faqs/ As confirmed under item 2, a TravelPass session starts when you make or receive a phone call, send a text or use data. Let us know if this helps to clarify.
