Why do I keep getting a message telling me the number is blocked?

Trying to set up a new Samsung Tab 4 10.1.  When I try setting up texting I get a message that the number is blocked.  I have the unblock code but don't know where to use it.

Congrats on your Samsung Tab 4 10.1 I hope you're enjoying it! This tablet is not capable of using regular text messages for this reason you are getting that error message. You can however, use Verizon Messages here's how to set it up and more information about them: http://vz.to/1A0oA5h
