Verizon phone return issue

After I receive Samsung Z Flip on release day 27/08, I returned the device next day to Bestbuy, because they told me it can activated only on Oct 1.
Today Sep 28, still waiting to solve issue, because according to Verizon, I have to pay the bill until Verizon warehouse get back device from Bbuy. And the worst thing is according to Verizon representative on the phone, it takes 1-2 billing cycles and I have to pay the bill that I'm not using.
