Verizon announced "Nationwide" (lower band) 5G access on Oct 13. Since the "Ultra" (high) band won't be accessible in my location, I was glad the Nationwide coverage map showed it was locally available. But, I just discovered that my SM-976V was made in August 2019 with the older Qualcomm X50 modem that connects only to the high band. So, after spending a lot on the SM-976V that was advertised as a 5G device, I get no such connectivity. I believe customers should have been informed of the modem and limited access issue. Have others been impacted with this problem? Does anyone have a suggestion for getting satisfaction from Verizon and/or Samsung?

Taylaptop, providing you with fast data speeds through the 5G network is a priority. We are here to assist. Please click on the following web page https://www.verizon.com/support/5g-mobile-faqs/ for the details. What type of signal does the phone show? Are you located in a 5G coverage area shown on the coverage map?

I'm aware of the network. The note 10 plus 5g. Only connects to a portion of the network. It will never be able to connect to the 5g that is widely deployed by verizon. Stop playing and offer customers who paid for a premium device a real solution. You advertise the 5gUW, it is something that will not be widely available anytime soon if ever. The cost of this device is twice as much as mid range devices that support your 5g. Other networks have the note 10 plus 5g that uses the X55 that would work with both MMwave and Sub6. We have paid the same price for a device that only gets MMwave. Do what is right and take care of your customers who paid for a premium device that will give us a true 5g experience.

Taylaptop, Read the prior emails! The phone connects to 4G fine. The map shows I live in a 5G covered area. But, the phone's X50 modem can't connect to the sub6 5G band (aka "Nationwide"). Also see Kayleeates' 10-21-2020 12:11 PM post. She clearly voices the problem and our frustration.

My name is Douglas Price: 901-355-7627 / [email address removed per the Verizon Terms of Service].
I have this same exact issue which I complained to customer service about....about 1 month ago and I spoke with one of your managers named Hank. There has been no resolution and I do expect Verizon to provide a solution....a new equivalent phone at no cost to me. I live in the greater Houston, TX area and both live in and work in Nationwide coverage areas. If there is not action planned by Verizon, I can and will take my story to the local TV channels who are happy to make news stories about this kind of fraud....intentional or otherwise.

Ok is there anything you can do for me. This is really frustrating that I paid a lot more for the 5g option then the normal option? If I could I would like some help upgrading the the note 20 ultra. That will be able to have 5g. I have been paying for 5g for 3 weeks and haven't been able to use it at all and was told I would be able too.

Well, after messaging with customer service, their solution is not acceptable. They will give you $350 discount on the Note 20+ Ultra plus $250 trade on this phone. Of course, that's spread over 24 months, worthless. You also have to pay off what you own on the 10+. For me, about $550. Verizon isn't taking responsibility for the issue at all.
My solution, pay off the phone, trade it into Samsung directly for $650 toward the Note 20+ Ultra unlocked version. I'll also drop my insurance with Verizon and pay it directly to Samsung. It's a wash compared to what Verizon is offering but I won't be tied to Verizon. Then once I get my family phone situation squared away, I'm switching to T-Mobile. I've had enough of Verizon's garbage.

We want to ensure all our customers are receiving the best Verizon experience. I do understand your frustration with the recent Note 10 discovery. However, this is a functionality choice by the developer, not your carrier. This is still an amazing new device that's capable on 5G UW, which is the true full experience and purpose behind 5G technology. Furthermore, if your concern is to get the most out of 5G service, why find a solution that involves leaving the leading 5G carrier? Are you still getting the most out of your new device? - NicholasS_VZW

I have 5G UW in my area when I recently made a plan change to 5UW but then saw that this device is NOT COMPATIBLE with 5G UW. So what is really going on here? I have been with VZW since 2006 I dont want to lmswitch carrier because of a stupid issue like this. I dont even care if I get 5G nationwide anymore but looks like this device isn't compatible with 5G UW. So we are all just stuck with a 4G phone thats advertised as 5G?!?!?!? What kind of garbage is this?!?!? How can such a big company like you even accept such garbage?
Sure this might be Samsung's choice and not the "Carrier's" fault, so you are just going to let Samsung ruin your customers' experience and just let all of us leave? What kind of business are you running?!?!? Wheres the integrity? Wheres the ownership? Wheres the moral? Wheres the "we will make it right" attitude?
