Verizon announced "Nationwide" (lower band) 5G access on Oct 13. Since the "Ultra" (high) band won't be accessible in my location, I was glad the Nationwide coverage map showed it was locally available. But, I just discovered that my SM-976V was made in August 2019 with the older Qualcomm X50 modem that connects only to the high band. So, after spending a lot on the SM-976V that was advertised as a 5G device, I get no such connectivity. I believe customers should have been informed of the modem and limited access issue. Have others been impacted with this problem? Does anyone have a suggestion for getting satisfaction from Verizon and/or Samsung?

- I'm having the same issue was told its because my phone was made in 2019 and will basically never show 5g. I've been in city's with both 5g opinions and nothing. Verizon said they pay off the Note 10 and get me in a new plan for a Note 20. Now that they sent the phone they changed the deal and say it's just my device thats defective.. why???

Was this ever resolved? It's now August, 2021 and people are still posting about it. Do I really need to buy another phone now that I have a 5g account and find my 5g phone doesn't work for 5g as I was told? It was the ONLY reason I waited for the Note 10 instead of buying an earlier model that was cheaper but not 5g capable.

Never resolved, I have 6 lines with Verizon and still no one cares, they basically called me stupid for not realizing it was only 5G ultra wide band, even though the salesman specifically told me it would be compatible with the nationwide 5g they were rolling out. We're just going to switch to sprint or t-mobile when out contract is up, I don't continue to do business with liars who call me stupid and leave me holding the bag!

Good luck with that. Make sure you and your lawyer thoroughly read the Customer Agreement before filing your paperwork.
I'm most definitely NOT a VZW employee. If a post answered your question, please mark it as the answer.

As of 12:10pm 10/20/20, I spoke to a rep and a member of the escalation staff. I was told they are aware, it is a known issue and verizon is suppose to come up with a solution. A software update cant fix hardware issues. The solution to come should have came with the 5g nationwide announcement. Im patient so I'll wait for the solution. The option of "just go buy a new phone" is out of the solution. We bought this phone to be 5g ready not specific 5g ready. Im loyal to verizon and dont want to leave but without a reasonable solution, im leaving this company. Come on verizon. Im counting on you.

So I've been doing a lot of research. I have the unlocked version bought and pre-ordered from Samsung of the note 20 ultra. Apparently my phone is 5G compatible with Verizon a UWB, BUT not nationwide 5G. It needs an update from Samsung and Verizon to allocate it to the devices. 5G isn't even an option to select in network connections. Pending updates should make it work.

The only option for all of us is to replace our Note 10 Plus 5g with something else similar, WITHOUT PENALTY. This phone does not do nationwide 5g even though it's a 5g ready phone. Customer service won't acknowledge that and I'm seriously considering leaving Verizon because of their mishandling of this.

I have been a Verizon customer since before you were called Verizon and have to admit that since I bought the Note 10 plus 5g have been waiting patiently for 5g in the greater Philadelphia area. Now I hear it is here and my 5g devise that I paid alot of monies cannot get the 5g that is in my area now, that is to say the least unexpectable. Do the right thing Verizon and make me glad I have been loyal to you for all these years, offer me a free trade up to the Note 20 Plus 5g!
Waiting for your response.
