Why are we still waiting on this update? We pay full prices for these phones and get an update FORCED on us that we already knew would destroy our phones but we have no way to stop it. I had a perfect phone for about 2 months and get an update forced on me that now force closes apps, and completely drains my battery in the first couple hours of the day. A little difficult if you need it for work. I've called and called and you get the same garbage answer. Here's an answer for you... stop forcing updates on us and let us CHOOSE if we want to download them or not. I think all Verizon customers should walk their phones back into Verizon and demand a full refund on their phones. Start taking care of your customers! You did this to us on our last phone, the Razr Maxx. Couldn't use it after 6 months because of an update that screwed up our phones. You NEVER did make it right for us... just moved on to the next phone in your line up. This is the LAST phone I will have with Verizon. Total bs how you leave your customers hanging. This update was released a month ago. If I don't have it soon, you are getting your phone back and I'm getting a full price refund, and I hope everyone else does the same. How you haven't had a class action suit over this is beyond me.

I understand your frustration on this matter Luck10, trust me I do. I am currently waiting on that update for my Note Edge as well. Please do not leave over this. Honestly, it is out of Verizons control being that we do not make the software nor do we manufacture the phones. Google has to create the update for the Android software. Once they do that, it is pushed to us and then we push it out to our customers. I actually did a master reset on my phone and now I do not have the issue with apps any longer. Have you tried that on your Note? If not, here are the steps to do so: http://vz.to/1LJeUSD. Keep in mind to run a backup on your phone first to save all your media.

Why would they want to give us the most updated software right now? They are going to be pushing the note 5 now. So they dknt have any reason to update our 4's

Not a good argument.
Why dI'd they update the S5.... they could be pushing the S6...
Why did they update the M8 when they hey could have been pushing through M9...
See the trend here?

Because we know the note 5 is about to be released? This is my original post and the arguments are for note 4 users that are tired of their phones being pieces of crap. This is where we can voice our opinions to Verizon since their reps know absolutely nothing... quite conveniently I might add.
Like I said before, if you think Verizon is so great please feel free to go start your own post on how fantastic Verizon is and then please, ever so kindly, guide me to it so I can constantly write contradicting comments to everything you write. We are trying to get Verizon's attention to take care of their customers. Find something else to do.

That makes your argument worse... as it still would apply. These devices got updated to Lollipop from Kit Kat. The S5 is on 5.1.1 and the S6 is available. Why not delay that update to get people to the S6... seriously man.
FYI regardless of what OS version you have Verizon or any carrier for that matter makes the same amount of money. Manufacturers on the other hand would want you to upgrade yearly as they only make money off the sale of devices and have no residual income. Think about it carefully.

First of all, I'm not a man. Believe it or not as a woman I'm more technologically savvy than most men I know. But your assumption that I'm a man speaks volumes.
How on earth does it make my argument worse? It makes the CEO's at Verizon and Samsung look like bigger bumbling idiots than originally thought. Why on earth would you force an update on phones that are only a couple months old, completely destroy those phones for the users, and think that's a smart business decision? Because you seriously think holding back your update that will fix my new, current phone will make me update to your NEXT phone? Is this some kind of joke??
The only thing that makes the owners of these phones do is switch to Apple and another phone carrier. A kindergartener can put that together. When I'm done with this phone, which in many ways I already am because it hasn't worked since it was only 2 months old, I'm moving on and I'm not looking back. Think I'm the only one?? Verizon and Samsung are digging their own graves. It's called Business 101. And for the record, I'm highly educated and have been an Operations Manager at several successful multi-million dollar companies... as a woman to boot. Huh? So if Verizon or Samsung need some help on how to not lose money or customers, give me a call.
Don't bother responding with any more comments. This is my last post. The arguments are beneath common sense and Verizon's time is up... they are in my rearview mirror.

Good luck with that. This is the Internet. I can't peer through the Internet cables to determine who you are and what you do (I honestly don't believe you do what you claim, but that's a different matter which we both can ignore as I won't respond to you after this point so it's irrelevant).
Like I said before. Verizon or any carrier for that matter gets the same money regardless of what OS version you are on. How much do you pay now? How much do you pay if your phone got the update? So why care a device gets an update. Chances are you are going to switch carriers and buy the same manufacturer thinking they get updates faster... history has shown it's random currently right now sprint is the quest buto a year removed they were dead last with Verizon give or take weeks between the two. If you worked for high end companies you would know for a fact the guys at the bottom will never know everything and you taking that rep word like it's the gospel from Samsung...
So unless you have factual proof pointing to Verizon having the update and is purposely delaying it which goes against what Samsung said multiple times since 2007 then you have proved both of them to be lying. Though developers already know Samsung is prone to lying since the release of the Note 2 and what their managers told us in a press conference.
Have a great day and I wish you the best of luck. I hope you pick you next carrier and next device correctly so you won't be doing this again on their forums.

Luck10, we want you to continue to enjoy all that your phone offers. Have you attempted the factory data reset steps that were provided? If so, what were the results?

Why would she click Correct Answer when you didn't answer her question? She asked for a timeline for 5.1.1 and you told her to factory reset her phone.
That's moronic.
That factory reset will clear caches and makes things better in the very short term, but the poor memory and app management in Android 5.0.1 will still be there.
What is Verizon's timeline for rolling out Android 5.1.1 on the Note 4?

I got the same run around over and over about my battery issues from Verizon and Samsung. Their solution : Factory reset. We did 2 and it did crappie for my phone. I was using 25 to 30% over nite starting out with a full charge in 8 hours. Finally a Verizon rep told me to go to Best Buy and see the Samsung reps at the Samsung Experience kiosk. I explained my crappie battery issues ever since the 5.0.1 update. They explained to me that whenever you download the update via WiFi of 4G there can be gaps in the signals so they hooked up the phone to their computer and directly downloaded the update. Now I only experience a 4 to 5 % drop overnight loss in battery charge and my battery life is almost as good as it was before I installed that [removed] update. I couldn't be happier. So if you have a Best Buy near you I highly recommend you get there and let them do their thing and get you back on your feet.

The Samsung guys at Best Buy know their stuff and have the latest binaries. Unfortunately they are also held hostage by Verizon's slow moving software vetting process.

They still don't know. I did see where the Kies3 and Update Assistant were just recently updated. Might give us a little hope!

Believe me, I'm just as pissed as you about this update not being out yet, but I have the same phone as you, with the same OS version, and it works just fine. There must be something else going on with yours. What exactly is it doing? I factory reset mine last week just to improve performance and it wasn't too much trouble to do. You might want to try it to see if it helps until the update finally gets released. Just make sure you back up and double-check. I lost all my contacts, but I was able to restore them from my google account.

Agreed on all points that we are basically out in the storm while waiting for the umbrella we paid for yet Verizon refuses to give us.

Isn't that weird? The G2 got 5.0.2 before the G3 got 5.0.1.

I just want to know are we even getting 5.1.1 or 6.0? Which one, and when? Why is this a secret? Give an approx date (within a couple weeks accuracy) Why is Verizon and Samsung have to act like they don't know or can't say? It's very disappointing all the bugs I have on my Note 4, 2 months after owning a flawless Note 4! Then the update came that messed it up. Then not far from a year later, still no fix?! Even though the fix came out months ago, and other networks have updated over a month ago?! Why not us? I'm very tempted to switch our 3 lines to AT&T even though I've been with Verizon for about 15 years! Sad.
