I know this is a very wide spread issue and it's a major problem across all devices with numerous people in numerous locations. When my phone goes into 5G, it just does not work! It's practically dial up. My iPad from my company I work for was updated to Veriozn and when it goes into 5G, can't even get an email to load. This happens no matter the town, part of billing cycle etc. Everyone that I know with Verizon says same thing. I want me devices to just stay at 4G LTE. Is there an option to turn off 5G? It wastes so much of my time personally and professionally. 5G been out long enough that this should not be an issue, or atleast have a fix to where we can turn off 5G. Please advise.

I have the best plan, new SIM, a 5G phone and my iPad for work on a company account that the old one worked perfectly and now the new 5G iPad is straight dial up. My friend upgraded her phone to 25ultra newest Samsung out and the 5G just a slow as the 22 Ultra. It is the devices, it isn't the plan, it is the 5G. It's been out for years and it's worse not better. I want the option to turn it off. My phone works 10x faster with 4G 1 bar than 5GUW all bars. My old iPad 6th Gen worked better than this 10th Gen. It's Verizon. The 5G is 100% not even a fraction. What is advertised.

We hate to hear you are having these issues as 5G should be working seemlessly with your devices. I would suggest verifying in the settings that 5G auto is selected. Apple does build into settings the ability to manage your connection and disable 5G connection utilizing LTE only. You can find the details here https://support.apple.com/en-us/108383 I am also sending you a private note where we can work together to troubleshoot your issue if you would like.

Maybe your account needs to be reprovisioned so your devices know to use all of the available current spectrum. Or if your SIM or eSIM is old, try getting a new SIM/eSIM. Devices which are several years old (5G was invented around 2018) may not support 5G at all - you'd have to look up the specs for said devices to see if they can use 5G or not. If they can't use 5G or do not support the 5G spectrum used by Verizon, then what will happen is the device will detect a signal, but nothing works.
From what I've been seeing, Verizon has been gradually upgrading their network to have more 5G cells on the towers, as 4G has been around for 15 years in Verizon's case (technology was invented back in 2008 or 2009; Verizon began implementing it in 2010).
I'm not a Verizon employee, just another customer trying to help.
