I have had this phone for 3 days and cannot get 5G to work. I have been with Verizon since 2007 and my phone of choice has been Samsung since the Note 3. Yes, I made sure it is a 5G phone. Yes, I upgraded my plan to 5G. Yes, I checked the coverage area to make sure my area is covered. I have spoken with tech support 3 times and each experience was different. 1st tech was great and for 30 secs I had 5G then it was gone. The second tech needs a lot of customer service training and should not be interacting with customers until that training is complete. I gave up on the 3rd tech after waiting for 40 mins without a response. So if anyone has had this problem and figured out how to fix it please let me know. I have done all of the basics and I am out of ideas. Phone was purchased through Verizon.

Hello there ktothagee. We can understand wanting to be able to experience all that 5G has to offer. It is concerning to hear that you are having some trouble too but we are here to help. Are you having trouble getting 5G service everywhere or just in certain locations that you know should have a 5G signal? How is the 4G functioning on your device?

I had had 5G on my Note 20 for months, then sometimes over the last few weeks it disappeared and switched to 4G and has been that way ever since.

We want you to be able to enjoy 5G & are here to help. To gain clarity, does this issue persist everywhere, or when in a certain area? When you navigate to Settings > connections > mobile network > is data roaming on? What do you have your network mode set to?

I have the same situation. 5G worked since I first bought my Note20 - now it does not. I bought a Note20 5G Ultrawide and the mobile hotspot was one of the reasons that I bought this phone and chose that plan. I live in a 5G area. I PAY for and BOUGHT a 5g phone. I expect to have 5G service. It has been about a week now.

We always want you to have the ability to utilize 5G service wherever possible! I'm sorry to learn that it's been over a week! I'm here to help. Tell me, are you in areas where you used to see 5G, but now you don't? What zip code are you in? Please reply via Private Note, and we can go from there. Thanks!

My wife and I both have Note20 Ultra's and both have the same issue with 5G. With 4G we have internet, but once we hit 5G, internet is sporadic. Always been this way.

We want to make sure you and your wife enjoy 5G. I would love to help. Can you tell me more on what is happening? When did it start? Does it get better if you leave the area?

Predator7 is right about the updates messing up the 5G data and voice due to the updates. I had this Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G since September 2021. I never had issues with my phone till the April 2021 update. It is now June 15th 2021 and I am having data and voice issues. Yes, I did a factory reset, airplane mode, replace the sim card, and just about every option in regards to rebooting this phone. I took it to the Samsung recommended company called UbreakIfix in which they couldn't do anything about the issue and stated they had other owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G phone. Best Buy said the same thing. Even Samsung tech support said it was the updates that caused this issue. Verizon needs to fix this issue.

Service issues are not what we want for you. I understand you've addressed this concern with the manufacturer and others. What we can do is troubleshoot to provide you with the best experience possible if you'd like.

Mine is doing the exact same things as most of you, they even tried swapping my phone out and the same issues. while on 5g, no internet. while on 4glte, i have internet. tried switching mobile networks from global to lte/cdma and lte/gsm/umts. it will not switch to 4glte, except for randomly every other day or so to 4glte and have internet for a few mins and then it auto switches to 5g and nothing again. has anyone gotten a solution to this problem ?, because im getting sick of paying $1,200 for a phone that will not work with the carrier's service that sold the phone to me.

I'm having the same issue! 4g works fine. Once my phone switches to 5g I get no internet connection. Currently in Rancho Cucamonga, CA. So frustrated with Verizon!
